Sometimes, I feel like a failure when I look at my brothers and sisters who wear or are wearing the uniform. Their patriotism far outweighs any “sacrifice” I’ve encountered, especially at the risk of life and limb.
You’ll remember what Jesus Christ said about those who place others ahead of themselves:
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Today marks the day that we, in the United States, set aside to recognize “the Armistice,” when “all was quiet on the Western Front.”
So, today as you sit comfortably in your office and silently curse the Post Office for not delivering mail, remember that there are some families who won’t be close to their loved ones for a very long time.
