Android App Review: ExDialer & Contacts

There are three things I really hate about Android: the dialer, the contacts, and the messaging apps. Fortunately, ExDialer & Contacts ($3.99) app provides a decent replacement for the first two stock Android apps.

There really isn’t too much to say about this app, except to note that it’s clean UI will appeal to anyone wishing for a replacement.

I love the bigger dialpad and the easy to find information. The app still pulls data from your built-in contacts — disabling or removing the stock contacts app could create issues for your device — so all your information gets stored.

Overall, ExDialer & Contacts gets 4 of 5 stars.

  1. Have you noticed that Google Play has changed the way you can read reviews. It used to be you could search and read reviews based on the rating. I always read the reviews that were “1”s to see the problems. You can’t do that now. If an app has 5000 reviews the “1”s are last and you have to go through the reviews6 at a time to see the “1”s. I quit trying new apps unless I can read the reviews.

    • There are a number of Google Play changes that I’m not pleased with. I don’t tend to trust a lot of 1 ratings, unless there’s a lot of 1 ratings. I like Google’s star system, which is similar to Amazon, and gives you an understanding of where the app ranks. I don’t think there are a lot of 5 star apps, nor are there a lot of 1 star apps.
