While iOS users are giddy about their “upgraded” operating system, you’ll be enjoying a boosted Google Maps. As you probably know, iOS 6 strips all things Google from iOS 6′s data centers. Sure, there’s still the apps, but no more native inclusion. Instead of Google, Apple is introducing its own navigation/mapping software that includes TomTom and “flyover” features.
That said, Google will update its Android mapping app sometime today, after or near when Apple fans are tying up bandwidth. The main change is that mobile and desktop will sync better, making search results more easily discoverable between the two devices.
Hopefully, it’s going to drop soon…
