Transformer Infinity and Prime Tablets to Receive Jelly Bean Update Soon

Asus Transformer Pad owners get ready. According to an “official” press release posted here, Jelly Bean is on its way to the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) and the Transformer Prime (TF201). Watch your updates because apparently it’s coming in the next 72 hours.

No official word on Asus’s Facebook page, so I’m still cautiously optimistic. Needless to say that for the next 72 hours, I’m going to be pressing “check for updates” quite often.

JB for the Prime removes Wi-Fi Direct, so I guess that means no more tethering for the foreseeable future. Luckily I'm almost always somewhere that has Wi-Fi when I need to use the tab. But it's still annoying. I wish I knew why Asus did that.

Also, I'm not sure it kills tethering, just Wi-Fi sharing. Not bad when you're linking to a connection, horrible if you're trying to share your connection.

Apparently it's only gone for Prime. I'm still waiting to see what happens to my Infinity.
